San Marino. Songs in Geneva for the presentation briefing at the 83rd Session of the UNECE Committee
The presentation briefing took place this morning in Geneva at the United Nations Building at the 83rd Session of the UNECE Committee (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management which San Marino will host from 3 to 6 October next.
The Secretariat of State for the Territory gave the news, specifying: “To open the meeting – members reserved for UN diplomats and officials from UNECE countries – the Secretary of State for the Territory and the Environment Stefano Canti with a brief greeting to the delegations present, he defined the Committee as our urban development partner and recommended its genuine attention to the integrated treatment of the three pillars of sustainability. These objectives have always been at the center of the development agenda of our territory. They have been passed down from one generation to the next and their achievement is becoming increasingly difficult in light of climate change. Our solutions are not enough and must be implemented. We need to do more. We must use information technologies to our advantage and above all join efforts, continued Canti. We are proud to host this Forum and the UNECE Committee with which we have been collaborating successfully for some time. We are proud to adopt all the principles of the San Marino sustainable declaration such as urban development, a declaration that will see Lord Norman Foster signatory and the first designer of all the architects, engineers and urban planners who will attend the event and beyond. Our cultural role is a testament to this.
Important topics will be discussed during the event, including regional cooperation, smart and sustainable cities, land management and urban development; the results of the intelligent and sustainable profile of the Republic of San Marino, drawn up by the UNECE and commissioned by the Government, will also be communicated. The director of UNECE, Dr. Paola Deda, presented in detail the program of the four days of work of the83rd Session of the UNECE Committee on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management.
