Sunday evening was celebrated the entry into the FSP Hall of Fame of the Senior National Team which 20 years earlier had won the only official international title of our sport.
In fact, on June 15, 2002, in Malta, the San Marino national team won the precious and only gold medal in this category after beating Wales in the final with a score of 82-70. Strongly desired by this management, this symbolic event served to rightly remember a group that the year before, in 2001, had given the blue and white colors the bronze medal at the Games of the small states.
It was a wonderful meeting of new old mates and friends who shared exciting moments, which from today will remain even more in the historical memory of San Marino basketball.
The way back then
San Marino – Malta 84-60
Scotland – San Marino 62-66
Albania – San Marino 78-77
SEMIFINAL: San Marino – Andorra 78-77
THE FINAL: San Marino – Wales 82-70
