Liga Portugal sets urgent meeting on violence in sport
ONE Liga Portugal announced this Monday the request for an urgent meeting with the Authority for the Prevention and Combat of Violence in Sport. At issue are the episodes recently experienced at Famalicão-Benfica and Estoril-FC Porto, in which home fans were expelled from the stands.
Liga Portugal stated that it has done its work to raise awareness to avoid such situations. The organization also promised that it will review the proposals by the security directors of the emblems of the I and II Leagues.
Liga Portugal reinforced that its main attention is to sports agents and the safety of supporters, as well as the return of families.

“Following recent events, Liga Portugal requests, as a matter of urgency, a meeting with the Authority for the Prevention and Combat of Violence in Sports (APCVD), which will take place next Friday, September 23, at 2 pm. :30, on the premises of this Authority.
Liga Portugal has sensitized all agents and public entities to an effective involvement in addressing the phenomena of violence in Sport, for the purpose presented and discussed having a set of proposals and concrete measures.
In this meeting, we will revisit how proposals, jointly evaluate the Measures of its implementation group and meeting, we will revisit the meeting of the fair meeting – between the selected Club Security teams that will participate in the measures of the Club Security Group and the League Portugal.
The safety of public agents and all agents involved in the sporting phenomenon and the return of families to the stadiums are, we reinforce, fundamental objectives for Liga Portugal.
