San Marino. Tavolucci roundabout and relations with the University: the clarifications of the Canti Secretary
Roundabout Tavolucci and University: Secretary of State Stefano Canti intervenes to clarify some aspects of both events.
“With reference to the article by the Rector of the University of San Marino, Corrado Petrocelli, I would like to immediately remove any doubt that the University represents an institution of excellence for our Republic and as such, I respect it and am honored to have it within our small territory. What I sincerely do not understand is the rather singular method used by the Rector, regarding the taking of a public position and the words used towards the undersigned regarding the article a few days ago in the presence of the undersigned, the Manager and the officials of the ‘AASLP, at the SURF 2022 event (9th Symposium on the characteristics of road paving). If the Rector of the University is upset by the words written in the press release, both good and right, call me directly or, given the proximity of the respective offices, knock on my office door rather than call “right” and “Left” using words “not very admirable” towards myself. I would like to clarify that also the Secretariat of State for the Territory and the Environment (Ministry) of which I am the owner, represents a high institution of our small state and, as such, I believe it must be respected and not defamed with articles such as those used, on several occasions, by opposition parties or by the Rector himself. It is therefore available for a meeting with the Magnificent Rector Petrocelli or, with Prof. Andrea Grilli or with Eng. Matteo Casali (former director of the AASLP) to clarify the reasons for the renewal of the collaboration between the University of San Marino and the Autonomous State Agency for Public Works and for a comparison on the “merit” of skills within the AASLP.
With regard to the articles that appeared in the local press on the construction work of the experimental roundabout in the Tavolucci area and following the local demonstration held on Friday 16 September by the “Libera” political party, I think it is necessary to specify how much. First of all, I think it is useful to remind citizens how the project was approved in the last legislature by the Commission for Territorial Policies with resolution n.10 on 25 May 2018. At that moment, in the Commission for Territorial Policies for “Libera” were present: Marina Lazzarini, Matteo Ciacci and the President Augusto Michelotti or the same people who today demonstrate against the construction of the roundabout. I would also like to remind you how, at the beginning of I would like to legislature, “Libera” (in the people of Marina Lazzarini and Matteo Ciacci) did a sit-in to ask not to interrupt the construction work of the Murata roundabout and therefore how the figures Today he is opposed to the creation of a new rotation, declaring at the same time by voice of the President, that for “Libera” road safety is a priority of his. Is this the coherence that “Libera” manages to express? Lastly, I would like to highlight how, the Director of “Libera”, Vladimiro Selva, is one of the “Technical Experts” of the AASLP Design Sector and how, at the time of the final approval of the project by the Commission for Territorial Policies ( 25 May 2018), the same, held the role of Coordinator of the Design Office and how, therefore, the project for the construction of the roundabout in the Tavolucci area, also signed by him, is strongly contested by your political party of “Libera”. Here is an example of a “concrete” and “coherent” policy.
On this project I go ahead because the safety of the roads “first of all while”, as regards the trees that have been cut down, they will soon be replanted because as already said “A PLANT WILL REPLANTS, THE LIFE OF PEOPLE DOES NOT”.
