Portugal beats the Czech Republic at the European Under-20 Volleyball Championship
The Portuguese under-20 volleyball team won today 3-0 against the Czech Republic, in a game referring to the second round of Group II of the European Championship, taking place in Vasto, Italy.
After having lost in the opening round in the black with Greece (3-2), Portugal was superior to the Czech Republic by the partials of 25-21, 27-25 and 25-20 and continues in the fight for the two top places of the group, that access to the semi-finals.
Nuno Marques, with 17 points, followed by André Pereira, with 15, was again the main scorer of the Portuguese team, as well as of the game, while in the Czech national team that role belonged to David Kollator, with 14.
The teams came from different results on the first round, as the Czech Republic won 3-1 in Finland, with the partials of 25-15, 19-25, 25-19 and 25-22, and Portugal lost to Greece, by 3-2, with 25-23, 19-25, 26-28, 25-22 and 15-10.
Portugal to continue its participation in the European final against Bulgaria (Monday), Belgium (Wednesday) and Finland (Thursday).
Group I, taking place in Montesilvano, is formed by the teams of Italy (hosts, Serbia, Slovakia, France and Slovenia.
