Upper Austrian becomes the new boss of Salzburg AG
Business
After a hearing on Friday evening, the Supervisory Board Committee for Management Board issues proposed Michael Baminger as the new General Director of Salzburg AG. The appointment of the energy manager from Upper Austria by the entire supervisory board on Tuesday is only a matter of form.
Michael Baminger is Head of Sales at Energie AG Oberösterreich, he is 38 years old, studied economics and is considered a real professional in the energy business. In addition to Baminger, two applicants from Salzburg AG are also present at the hearing on Friday evening. However, Baminger, as the youngest candidate, prevailed.
Start with a difficult starting position
The hearing was chaired by Governor Wilfried Haslauer (ÖVP), he is the head of supervision at Salzburg AG. “We trust him that in the current, very difficult situation, he will continue to position Salzburg AG as a sustainable Greentec company and as a public service company for all Salzburg residents and lead it into the future.” That is why Michael was chosen on Tuesday suggest Baminger, according to Haslauer.
Job start on January 1st
The supervisory board of Salzburg AG still has to approve the proposal of the quasi admission committee on Tuesday – but that is considered certain because all three owners, including the city and state of Salzburg and Energie AG, had their representatives present at the hearing.
The new Salzburg AG boss Michael Baminger is scheduled to start his job on January 1st. That is the day on which his predecessor Leonhard Schitter changes to the executive chair at Energie AG in Upper Austria – a kind of job rotation between Salzburg and Upper Austria.
