“Take the A train”: Festival at the main station
Culture
The “Take the A-Train” festival has become a fixture. Eight years ago, the idea of enlivening the district of Elisabethvorstadt musically and culturally arose. We succeeded – until Sunday there are always new venues and numerous free concerts around the main station.
The festival evening started Thursday, Manu Delago opened with his first solo project “Environ Me” in Haus Elisabeth. Haus Elisabeth, which is run by Caritas and which normally serves as a winter shelter, among other things, has long been one of the venues for the “Take the A-Train” festival – rooting in the Elisabeth suburb was part of the concept from the start.
“The area is very multicultural, but apart from jazz. There is very little culture here and we just wanted to change that and offer culture in a very accessible way. Every year there are new companies that want to take part,” said the initiator of the festival, Andreas Neumayer.
More than ten venues around the main station
There are now more than ten venues for the “Take The A-Train” festival – including many hotels around the main station. And the station restaurant also invites you to concerts – most of the events can be attended free of charge. There are still around 20 concerts until Sunday.
Festival “Take the A-Train” different again this year
Eight years ago, the idea arose to revitalize the Salzburg train station district, i.e. the district of Elisabethvorstadt, musically and culturally. The result was the “Take The A-Train Festival” with ever new venues around the main station.
