Whether it’s an invoice or concert tickets – if a letter is late, it can be annoying for the recipient. There have been problems at Deutsche Post in Munich for a few weeks. The company gives two reasons.
Munich residents have been getting their mail too late for a few weeks now. A spokesman for the Deutsche Post DHL Group admitted that there were also a few cases of slightly delayed delivery in other Bavarian regions. Among them were Nuremberg, parts of the Allgäu and Stephanskirchen near Rosenheim. Several media had previously reported about it. The company cited a lack of staff and many cases of illness as reasons.
Due to the current situation on the German labor markets, employees are currently generally highly sought after. This also applies to the Munich area and is strongly noticeable in the logistics industry, said the spokesman. People are currently looking for staff using all relevant online and offline advertising channels. Overall, they are very satisfied with the response, so that despite the difficult situation on the job market, they are counting on covering their personnel requirements.
Corona infections and correspondingly higher sick leave have also made operations more difficult in the past few weeks, the company said. However, thanks to our forward-looking emergency and pandemic planning, the impact on our customers is rather small. Here we also benefit from the experiences from the two previous years, where we reacted to restrictions caused by the pandemic.
