They are difficult holes, with water around the green, they didn’t go into the water, but they were in very difficult conditions and, both in one and in the others, I did. Four shots were enough, but they kept me in the double way like recovering on the last three holes and ending up with a birdie on the 18”, contour the professional from Azeitão.
Accompanied throughout the period of work for the people of the 18th edition, Figue just grateful for the support and confident, that only 60 best and tied 60. will go from the Portuguese Open.
As I have here, I feel comfortable in this field and there is no reason why I can’t have two more good laps and a lot of playing a good result. And if it is enough for a victory, it would be a dream”, added Figueiredo, 85th in the “Race for Mallorca”.
Amateur Hugo Camelo Ferreira, who had been the best national representative that had been inaugurated, also managed to maintain continuity in the competition, although on an irregular front nine, with two bogeys (one above birdies), three birdies (one below) and a double – bogeyman. On the back nine he stabilized and is provisionally tied for 29th place.
“Today was not so good, but I’m happy to have passed the cut and played until Sunday, which was one of my goals. We signed and bet a little bit right away, two birdies in a row better and I did myself in the fight”, said the CG Miramar player.
Like Figueiredo and Hugo Camelo Ferreira, Tomás Bessa is also within the provisional cut, but has not yet finished the second round. The Alps Tour pro was going to hole 14 with one under when competition was stopped.
