Better digitization for Cologne
Cologne With their annual report, the Rhein-Energie-Foundations are once again looking back on a year that presented particular challenges for society: the massive restrictions and the lack of direct exchange due to the ongoing corona pandemic were challenging in 2021, but at the same time ensured digital progress .
Over the past year, the three foundations have dealt intensively with the advancing digitization and its effects on the population. This is the motto of the annual report that has now been published.
The Rhein-Energie-Foundations and their project sponsors have recognized the potential in the new digital possibilities and used them consistently. Many of the projects funded by the foundations in 2021 deal with how digitization processes can be better designed and used together: from innovative artistic formats in which digitality is rethought, to digital consulting services in social work, to workshops for children in the field of 3D printing technology.
“In 2021, against the background of the pandemic, the three Rhein-Energie foundations have increased their support in the areas of culture, family and youth, job/science in a forward-looking way that digitalization in Cologne and the region has received a boost,” says Mayor Henriette Reker, who is also chairwoman of the board of trustees of the three foundations.
