Hellas Verona defender Isak Hien snubs Ghana for Sweden – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results
Hellas Verona’s defender Isak Hien has decided to represent Sweden after receiving his first national team invitation.
The Swedish-Ghanaian has been named in the squad for the UEFA Nations League matches against Serbia and Slovenia later this month.
Isak Kwaku Malcom Hien has been in red-hot form for Hellas Verona in Serie A, earning him a place in the team.
Sweden coach Janne Andersson has revealed that he has been keeping an eye on the player since his days in the Swedish leagues.
“He’s fearless. There’s a lot I’m impressed by. I saw him live in a match against Halmstad (in the Swedish Cup in March), and then I wondered who it was. I didn’t keep track of him. From that he has only grown and grown, Andersson says.
“Now that he has moved abroad, he has also gone in and taken care of himself. His physicality, approach to the game and tactical ability will be an important part. It’s an impressive journey,” he added.
