“Six points would be a dream” – Hockey-News.info – All news about national and international ice hockey
“We’re hot, it’s about time we finally got going,” say HC TIWAG Innsbruck head coach Mitch O’Keefe and assistant coach Florian Pedevilla in unison. “The preparation was long and hard, now the boys want to show what they’re capable of in terms of competition,” said the coaches.
With the record champions from Klagenfurt, a tough chunk comes into the TIWAG Arena right from the start. A real location determination for the sharks, and hopefully a first highlight for the fans.
HCI sports manager Max Steinacher agrees: “A great task, it will certainly be difficult against KAC because they have worked together for years and there is always little fluctuation in the squad. But we are in a good mood and can compete with the best cast. We did our homework over the summer. Pretty much all the players we started chose us. And we are positioned a little more broadly than in recent years.”
Steinacher is very satisfied with the preparation: “You shouldn’t overestimate the results, but there were a lot of good things. Above all, the performance against Lugano (narrow 3-1 defeat), one of the best organizations in European ice hockey, was really impressive.”
With the game against KAC and Sunday’s game against Asiago, the Haie start the season with a home double. And hope, like the sports manager, of course for points: “6 points would be a dream, but we’ll see. In any case, I believe that a lot is possible right from the start.”
