CTT launches collection alluding to the 20th anniversary of the euro in Portugal
CTT – Correios de Portugal – presents this Thursday a philatelic issue dedicated to the 20 years of circulation and of the euro in Portugal, which is the second most used currency in the world. The ceremony that took place at the Museu do Dinheiro, in Lisbon, and which is now in its third edition, will be attended by the president of CTT, João Bento, and the governor of Banco de Portugal, Mário Centeno.

The stamp collection was carried out in partnership with the Bank of Portugal and, according to the president of CTT, João Bento, “the stamps are made to honor facts, mainly important events and others”, but, in the case of the euro, ” to celebrate the single European currency”.
The governor of Banco de Portugal, Mária Centeno, says that “stamps have been important to preserve the memory and this is a well-deserved tribute to the euro”. This philatelic issue is composed of two stamps, with values of 0.57 and 0.95 euros, with a circulation of 75 thousand copies each, and also by a philatelic block that has the value of four euros.
Stamps can be found for sale at CTT stores in Portugal. First-day obliterations (stamp that gives value to the seal) can be carried out at Restauradores stores, in Lisbon, Palácio dos Correios, in Porto, Zarco, in Funchal, Antero de Quental, in Ponta Delgada and Faro, in the Algarve.
