Bad Hofgastein advertises with major concerts

Bad Hofgastein (Pongau) is increasingly focusing on large concerts when it comes to attracting guests. The cult band “Die Ärzte” performs on Thursday evening, and hit star Helene Fischer appears at the beginning of October. Tourism, other communities and mountain railways in the valley also pay for the concerts – this is the only way they can be afforded.
Through financial cooperation, this can be kept smaller for the companies involved. An organizer takes over the organization, explains Franz Schafflinger, CEO of the Gasteiner Bergbahnen.
“From our side there is therefore only one fixed contribution to the responsible organizer. This is the only way we can implement it,” says Schafflinger.
Organizers expect 20,000 visitors per concert
The participants do not want to say exactly how much money the tourism professionals are investing in this. The organizers are expecting 20,000 visitors at each concert, says the managing director of the Bad Hofgastein spa and tourism association, Eva Irnberger.
“With big stars, you also achieve a broad impact. And even applying in advance is of great benefit to ski regions like ours for months on end.” In this context, Irnberger refers to the “high occupancy” of guest beds in the Gastein Valley.
