After Frankfurt, excellent news falls for Marseille
OM: If the defeat against Frankfurt was painful, Marseille has just received reassuring news about its jersey sponsor, Cazoo.
OM: Cazoo’s withdrawal will have no impact on Marseille and LOSC
Olympique de Marseille and LOSC are separating the same jersey sponsor this season, Cazoo. The British company specializing in the sale of second-hand cars online has been involved in recent years in a vast sponsorship campaign on the continent. The brand has thus become the partner of several European clubs, such as Aston Villa, Everton, Fribourg, Valence, Real Sociedad and Bologna. But the Cazoo company encountered quite a few economic difficulties. These huge losses then prompted the British brand to refocus its sponsorship policy.
Cazoo’s management recently indicated that it would withdraw from the European market with a massive layoff plan. This decision therefore foreshadowed the worst for OM and LOSC. Because if Cazoo withdraws from the French market, it would mean a huge financial loss for the two Ligue 1 clubs, which would then find themselves forced to find a new shirt sponsor for the rest of the season. However, the LOSC president quickly put an end to this concern. Asked by RMC Sports, Olivier Letang assured that the withdrawal of Cazoo would have no immediate impact on the resources of the Lille club. “Cazoo will remain the main sponsor of LOSC for the 2022-2023 season”, he declared before adding: “We are going to engage in discussions. On a two-year contract plus a third year. This contract still exists. »
OM: Cazoo, no worries for Marseille
Clear, Cazoo Should indeed honor his contracts with the two French clubs. In addition to Olivier Létang’s reassuring speech, on the OM side, the leaders are not at all worried. So far, the management of Olympique de Marseille has not yet communicated on the withdrawal of the British company from the European market. The Marseillais would therefore have received guarantees concerning the continuation of this collaboration.
For now, only one has chosen is certain: the British brand should remain the sponsor of the shirt of OM and LOSC until the end of the current season. Beaten against Eintracht Frankfurt (0-1), the Marseillais will try to raise their heads next Sunday against Stade Rennais.
