Weather: Paris and Île-de-France on yellow alert for thunderstorms and rain-flooding this Wednesday

This Wednesday, September 14, 2022, Météo France places 7 French departments on orange vigilance for a risk of thunderstorms. For their part, Paris and the whole of Île-de-France are on yellow alert for thunderstorms and rain-flooding. We take stock of the situation.
Will the thunder rumble Paris this Wednesday, September 14, 2022 ? According to the hopes of Meteo France, It’s possible. After several unstable weather episodes in recent days, Meteo France alert on a new risk of thunderstorms and of heavy rain which could fall this Wednesday on Parisbut also on the whole of Ile de France (Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne and Val-d’Oise).
This September 14, a phenomenon ofstormy showers is indeed expected in the afternoon everywhere in Île-de-France. Also, the entire Ile-de-France region is placed in yellow vigilance for thunderstorms and rain-flooding.
According to the weather service, these thunderstorms could touch Paris and the rest of Île-de-France this Wednesday all day long until midnight. The heavy rain could fall on the capital between 11 a.m. and midnight. Note that this bulletin is valid until September 15 at 6am.
Otherwise, 7 departments in the south of France are in amber alert pay a risk of thunderstorms. These are Ardèche, Drôme, Gard, Vaucluse, Hérault, Bouches-du-Rhône and Var.

During these periods of bad weather, Meteo France recommends to watch out for thunderstorms, synonymous with danger. here are some recommendations to follow as a precaution:
- movement limiter,
- do not go out with an umbrella,
- take shelter under a building,
- avoid touching electrical wires on the ground,
- stay away from posts, railings, trees and waterways,
- by car, avoid wooded areas.
