San Marino. First International Congress of Gerontology and Geriatrics of San Marino organized by the ASGG
The San Marino Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics (ASGG), is pleased to announce that the day
22/23 September 2022, the first International Conference of Gerontology and Geriatrics will take place in
San Marino at the Kursaal Congress Center.
“The ASGG Association, since its inception – explains a press release – has been the bearer of information and
training pathways for the health of the elderly, this conference is an opportunity to celebrate the ten
years of the Master in Geriatric Medicine in collaboration with the University of San
Marino and Ferrara, named after Dr. Giancarlo Ghironzi, who was the creator of the Maestro.
It is with enormous satisfaction that the President of the ASGG, Dr. Carlo Renzini, announces the
participation of the most prestigious speakers at the Italian national level such as the President-elect
AIP (Italian Association of Psychogeriatrics), Prof. Diego De Leo; the President of SIGOT
(Italian Society of Hospital and Territory Geriatrics), Prof. Alberto Pilotto; the President-elect of
SIGG (Italian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics), Prof. Andrea Ungar; as well as Co-President of
Conference with Prof. Giovanni Zuliani, Director of the Master in Geriatric Medicine, University of
Ferrara.
But also at the international level with the Vice-President, Prof. Miguel Acanfora, of the IAGG
(International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics) based in New York; and with the
President, Prof. Alain Franco of the UIAD (Université Inter-Ages du Dauphiné), which is one of the most
important experts in Gerontotechnology and will make us the honor of the conference, with speech
on “An ecosystem for aging well”.
How to reiterate the President of the ASGG, Dr. Carlo Renzini, the protection of health, dignity and
of the rights of the most vulnerable people, including the elderly, must be a goal
priority of the whole society in consideration of the aging of the population and, also a
follow-up to the events linked to the pandemic.
It is one of the most important challenges of the present and the future that must be faced by uniting
professionalism and multidisciplinary skills. Hence the need to address these topics in
such an important conference, and is aimed at all those who work in health and social matters
of the elderly.
The Conference is sponsored by the Secretariat of State for Health, University and Culture, and
to Industry, in addition to the patronage of the scientific societies mentioned above. A particular
thanks to the Hon. Andrea Beluzzi, Secretary of State at the University and Culture that has us
accompanied during this journey and will do us the honor of being present on the 22nd with the
Secretary of State for Industry Hon Le Fabio Righi.
It is certainly a source of pride that this ASGG motif reaches a dimension
extraterritorial with the recognition of important International Scientific Societies, but the
our main point of observation is always directed within our social fabric ”.
