Group A
Glasgow Rangers – Napoli 0:3 (0:0)
After a furious start with chances for both sides, the game flattened out in the first half. The Scots acted very compactly in defence, making it difficult for the Neapolitans to create comprehensive chances. However, Glasgow was by no means limited to defensive work and was always dangerous. The alleged can opener of the game brought a referee’s decision. James Sands brought down the rushing Giovanni Simeone in the penalty area and was sent off with yellow-red.
Ranger goalkeeper Allan McGregor scored twice, saving Piotr Zielinski’s penalty but then had to admit defeat after Matteo Politano’s follow-up shot. However, the VAR intervened and noticed that the supposed goalscorer entered the penalty area too early – so Piotr Zielinski had to play again from eleven meters and failed again at the 40-year-old in the Scots goal. Only a few minutes later, another Napoli player took penalties, this time Matteo Politano (68th) sank and scored the 1-0 lead. Giacomo Raspadori (85′) made the final decision with his goal five minutes before the end of normal time. Tanguy Ndombele even made it 3-0 in the 91st minute.

AC Milan 3-1 Dinamo Zagreb (1-0)
At the end of an even first half, in which the game could have gone either way, the Red Blacks were awarded a penalty from Milan. Dinamo defender Boško Šutalo clumsily hit Rafael Leão in the ankle inside his own penalty area. Olivier Giroud (45th) converted from eleven meters ice cold. Things move quickly after the break – probably too quickly from the Croatian point of view. Alexis Saelemaekers (47′) headed in after a pass from Leão. The guests from Zagreb surprisingly lengthened the lead to 1:2 thanks to a stroke of genius by Croatian striker Bruno Petković, who served the ball from the narrowest of spaces via the outside of his foot to the oncoming Mislav Oršić (55 ‘). Tommaso Pobega put an end to Croatia’s hopes of an away point with his goal to make it 3-1 in the 77th minute. Josip Drmić from Switzerland, who came on as a substitute in the 78th minute, was also unable to avert the defeat.
Chelsea 1-1 RB Salzburg (0-0)
RB Salzburg, which had two Swiss players in the starting line-up in Philipp Köhn and Noah Okafor, was waiting at the start of the game for quick counterattacks against the English who dominated the game, but neither side created any great chances. Raheem Sterling opened the score of the game in the 48th minute with a nice flick into the far corner. After scoring against Milan, Switzerland’s Noah Okafor also scored against Chelsea to equalize 1-1. The second Swiss in the ranks of Salzburg was also able to shine. With a brilliant save, Philipp Köhne ensured that the score remained 1-1.

Shakhtar Donetsk 1-1 Celtic (1-1)
In the game played in Warsaw due to the war, Celtics got off to a much stronger start, quickly created a few opportunities – and the deserved opening goal. Artem Bondarenko deflected a shot by Reo Hatate into his own net after about ten minutes. Shakhtar needed some warm-up time, but then took on more and more of the command. A rapid counter-attack followed to equalize by the super-nimble Mychajlo Mudryk (29′), who overcame guest goalie Joe Hart at full speed. After the break it flattened out. Glasgow, who were loudly supported by numerous guest fans, tried to go on the offensive with increasing vehemence, but were unsuccessful against a closely staggered Ukrainian team. With Benjamin Siegrist, a Swiss goalkeeper sat on the reserve bench at Celtic. As expected, he was not used.
Real Madrid 2-0 RB Leipzig (0-0)
It was the prototype of a work victory that Real Madrid brought in against RB Leipzig. The Madrilenians lack the necessary consistency and accuracy in attacking play. But in the 80th minute, Fede Valverde scored the opening goal. In stoppage time, Marco Asensio made everything clear with a dream goal.

Copenhagen – Seville 0-0
FC Copenhagen has earned a point against FC Sevilla. A game with few highlights found a fair result with a goalless draw. Both teams have to wait for their opening victory.
Manchester City 2-1 Borussia Dortmund (0-0)
Manchester City secured three points in the Champions League thanks to an artistic goal by Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker scored against his former club Borussia Dortmund in the 84th minute to make it 2-1. Nati star Manuel Akanji and Ilkay Gündogan also played against their former club from the start.
Both teams had long offered playful lean food; the favored “Citizens” in particular caught on for a long time with a striking lack of ideas. Dortmund was compact and offensively put isolated pinpricks. This was also the case in the 58th minute: Marco Reus found Jude Bellingham with his precise cross, who headed in to surprisingly put the visitors ahead. City remained dominant and pushed for the equaliser. However, the team of coach Pep Guardiola was initially not granted more than one post hit by Haaland. But 80 minutes later, John Stones equalized – and initiated the late turnaround.

Maccabi Haifa 1-3 Paris Saint-Germain (1-1)
The Israelis started the party bravely against the well-known Paris team. So it was by no means undeserved when Tjaronn hit Chery (24th) with a volley for a 1-0 lead. The Paris response was only 13 minutes in coming, Kylian Mbappe dribbles past his opponent and was lucky that his pass to Lionel Messi (37th) arrived, who netted from close range. After a first half at eye level, Messi and Mbappe let their individual class play. Mbappe (69th) scored after a nice pass from Messi for a 2-1 lead. Neymar made everything clear in the 88th minute and scored to make it 3-1.
Juventus 1-2 Benfica (1-1)
Turin’s newcomer Arek Milik scored in the 4th minute after a free kick with a head to start from Juve’s point of view. The guests from Lisbon increased the pressure on the Juve defense just before the break and the circumstances immediately awarded a penalty after consulting the VAR. João Mario hammered the ball under the bar from eleven meters to equalize 1-1. David Neres (55th) uses the game after a rebound to make it 2-1 from the Portuguese perspective. The Italian record champions were unable to avoid defeat and are already under pressure with zero points from two games.
