Css Verona closes the experience with a 6th national U18 place
Yes, with a historic 6th place in the national Under 18 women’s championship, the very long agonistic season of water polo for the Css Verona. The placing at the beginning of the month at the final eight in Avezzano (L’Aquila) completes the remarkable results brought home by the yellow and blue youth teams, such as the national finals of the Under 20 team and the national semifinals played by the Under 16.
The Under 18 team directed by Nicole Zanetta he had the misfortune to immediately find on his way all the opponents who populated the first half of the ranking, including the category champion Bogliasco who ousted the Veronese in the quarter-finals. The tail blow against Como in the semi-finals of the lower part of the board was followed by the defeat in the final for 5th place against Rapallo, which does not detract from the satisfaction of seeing Css again among the best eight in Italy.
This result, as is well known, also closes a cycle for Css in the national waterpolo elite. In fact, the club’s decision not to enroll in the 2022/23 women’s A1 series championship is recent. The intention is to continue working in basic sports training with water polo, swimming and artistic swimming, to increase its members even more. This is considered the only viable way, in this historical period, to promote sport to families in an economically sustainable way.
