la bataille se prépare à Bordeaux 3
The LR pair challenged the mention “former member of Alain Juppé’s cabinet” affixed to the ballots, under the name of Xavier Loustaunau who presented himself with Dominique David, then LREM deputy, on behalf of the presidential majority. In fact, 169 ballots had not been taken into account during the counting, depriving them of the second round. The “injured” then multiplied the recourses: administrative court, appeal then passage before the Council of State which ended up convening new elections.
Current campaign
In the field, the Amouroux-Carmona (LR) duo shot first. He has been campaigning since the end of August under the label “union of the right and the center”. It is intended to find the benches of the Department, with Gironde Avenir, the opposition to the departmental council. “We have committed no fault and are determined to defend our candidacy and our results for this year of office”, explains Géraldine Amouroux. Door to door, public meetings… The outgoing began to rake the ground.
“We have committed no fault and are determined to defend our candidacy and our record of this year of office”
For a year, the landscape has cleared up on the right. In 2021, Sarah Bromberg, ex-elected municipal in the majority of Alain Juppé and president of the Licra Bordeaux Gironde, and Ludovic Bousquet had embarked on the race obtaining 9.06% of the votes. This time, Sarah Bromberg is part of the support committee of Géraldine Amouroux and Gérald Carmona. For all practical purposes, just to mark the ground in this congested furrow of the center right, Mélina Atik, coordinator of Horizons, the movement of Édouard Philippe, has been designated as a replacement. This by-election says in hollow that the recomposition of the former majority Juppé then Florian is not quite finished.
Fabre and Skalli invest
In the presidential majority, the situation turned out to be trickier. After the first round, Dominique David (LREM) and Xavier Loustaunau (Horizons) fell out. A quarrel that turned into anger: Xavier Loustaunau had wanted to run for the legislative elections against Dominique David… finally defeated by Thomas Cazenave who was elected. Has Dominique David decided to turn the page on politics? As for his partner, if he thought about leaving for a while, he ended up abstaining: “I will not nominate myself, there is no point in dividing the votes of the presidential majority. It is necessary to regroup. I think voters need clarity, which explains my decision. »
He supports the pair chosen by the majority: namely Aziz Skalli, departmental referent of Renaissance (ex-LREM) and Catherine Fabre, former LREM deputy of the 2e constituency of Bordeaux, dislodged by the ecologist Nicolas Thierry last June. The duo promises “strong proposals to advance our department and more particularly this Bordeaux canton, often unfairly forgotten by public policies”.
Abstention
On the departmental majority side, the discussions to appoint the candidates are not yet over. The only certainty is that it will be a tandem shared between ecologists and socialists. The pair presented in 2021 could change: Clément Jeandet (PS) and Françoise Julien (EELV) had collected 24.04% of the votes. The appointment will take place in the coming days. Applications close on September 16.
