ADC Rebordelo was eliminated from the Portuguese Placard Cup, after losing, this Sunday, by five unanswered goals against CDC Montalegre, in the opening round of the premier competition of Portuguese football.
Playing at home, the Rebordelo team, which at the time secured second place in the AF Bragança District Championship, felt the weight of facing a Montalegre that already has three official games in Liga 3.
Nuno Loureiro opted for a protected line to Real Vila to try to stop the breakout of Bruninho Real 24’s set with a cross shot by Bruninho 24 by a cross shot by Bruninho Real. Before the end of the first half, André Dias with a strong and dry shot, at 32′, made it 0-2.
In the second half, Montalegre benefited from their better physical condition to prove their superiority. At 56′, a good match between Angola and Didi, ended with the easy goal of the Portuguese forward.
Before the final whistle, Montalegre stamped the victory and the passage to the second round with the goals of Diogo Teixeira (76′) and Guilherme Pio (81′) ending in 0-5.
In the aftermath of the match, Nuno Loureiro, coach of Rebordelo, who played the official game of the first one, was resigned to the outcome of the tie. “What we ended up being fair, we knew that the end result would be a strategy that deviated a little from our strategy, it would not try to delay the game idea, which would result in a strategy in the first 20 minutes. We wanted to play with that, not being sure of our mistakes, unfortunately, Montalegre. We started well in the second half, the physical indices of my team started to take care of themselves”.
The AF Bragança District Championship is at the door and in Rebordelo there is no time to regret defeats. “The goals for the next season are to win the game against “professional” teams that train in the morning and in the afternoon. We have to go after it, it’s eleven to eleven and what matters is the work and not the budgets”.
On the visiting side, Gonçalo Magalhães, assistant coach of Montalegre, gave voice to the Barrosão team in the face of the absence by punishment of coach José Manuel Viage. “In these Cup games, victories must be valued, they are always challenged. We entered the game competently, our work and we could have won by a bigger margin. We got serious in the game and made it easy. This is an important victory for us to turn the page on the latest results in Liga 3.” Montalegre’s team has 3 defeats in 3 games in Liga 3.
