In a press release, this Friday, September 9, 2022, the Paris Saint Germain indicates that he “condemned in the strongest terms the violence committed during the meeting between OGC Nice and FC Cologne” at the Allianz Riviera the day before for the first day of the UEFA Europa Conference League. clashes that ended in 32 injured including a serious one, in “absolute emergency” after a fall of more than 5 meters between two levels of the stands.
Links between ultra Parisians and Germans
If the capital club reacts, it is because in these scuffles, several former PSG supporters, the “Supras Auteuil”, were present. The seriously injured man is one of them. “The club wishes to clarify that the Supras Auteuil group was dissolved by a decree of April 29, 2010, and that its former members are not recognized as supporters of Paris Saint-Germain”, specifies the club.
What happens to these Parisian supporters in Nice? “The Supras Auteuil have been friends with the Wilde Horde, FC Cologne’s ultras group since 2003”, explains to franceinfo Michel*, a former ultra from the Auteuil corner of the Parc des Princes. He adds: “Since 2010, the oldest of this group of Ultras have become accustomed to traveling with the Wilde Horde. Their presence at the Allianz Riviera was therefore quite predictable for the authorities, especially when we know the antagonisms between Nice and Parisian supporters. But, even without this antagonism, the Supras would have made the trip. »
“An attack on the reputation of PSG”
The club recalls that it recognizes “only the organizations of supporters who have signed the agreement on the rights and duties of the supporter, with a permit it will exchange throughout the year to guarantee optimal security conditions within its enclosure and when traveling by the first team”.
PSG indicates that it is studying “the follow-up to be given to the impact on its reputation by the actions of the latter”.
