Massive participation in the offering to the Virgin of Pueyos in the Alcañiz Festival
RedMasiva participation in the offering to the Virgen de Pueyos on Friday morning on the big day of the Fiestas de Alcañiz, a day that started very early, at 08:30 am, in the Plaza de España, with the departure of the Corporation, of the Ladies of the Festivities and the group of Giants and Big Heads towards the Sanctuary.
Together with the Municipal Corporation, hundreds of men and women from Alcañizanos dressed in their regional costume and carrying bouquets of flowers that they offer to the patron saint during a long offering that lasted until ten in the morning, when the Eucharist began, which officiated the Archbishop of Zaragoza, Carlos Manuel Escribano Subías.
The popularity of the event, one of the most popular and loved by the people of Alcañizano, and the desire to return to normality on these important dates during the floral offering to the patron saint in a massive event in which entire families took part and where no the children were missing, who delighted the public, relatives and photographers.
After the celebration of the mass, the public dispersed through the different shadows and recreation areas that are found around the Sanctuary. There, the different crews were undoubtedly locating themselves to celebrate a popular lunch in groups of friends in which the great winner was, without any, the fried egg.
The Alcañiz Corporation was accompanied by the president of the Provincial Council, Manuel Rando, who explained that “in Alcañiz they remember few years like this in terms of participation in the offering,” he emphasized. In this sense, Rando added that “the pandemic has marked a lot and people really wanted to go out on the street and celebrate their parties.” Likewise, happy youth for “the common sense and responsibility they are showing.”
The president of the DPT, as well as the vice president, Alberto Izquierdo, also traveled yesterday to Andorra, which commemorated the Day of San Macario, with the procession through the urban area, which started at 11:30 a.m., and the celebration of the Eucharist . Today Saturday will be the penultimate day of the festivities in Andorra. As is tradition, at 11:00 am the procession to the hermitage of San Macario is scheduled.
