Ukraine can annually transport 2 million tons of oil through the pipeline to Gdansk
Ukraine can transport up to 2 million tons of oil per year through the pipeline to Gdansk.
This is provided for in the recently signed memorandum with Poland regarding the implementation of this project, message Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi.
He emphasized that Ukraine needs to create alternative powerful export logistics routes. Since we process a lot of oil crops, the pipeline is one such option.
“We dealt with these issues for several months – we conducted an examination, we were happy with the business. The Polish side positively accepted this proposal. Construction takes less time than approval of all documents. The pipeline will be several kilometers long, and the interests of many communities and people must be taken into account at this distance. We are more concerned about this than the construction itself,” said Solskyi.
In short, the technical characteristics are very preliminary: length – 600 km, capacity – up to 2 million tons of oil per year. The pipeline should run from the Yagodina district (Volyn region) to Gdańsk.
The Minister reported how the issue of a large number of trucks on the Polish-Ukrainian border is currently being resolved.
“We need to do certain things: distribute the types of goods that are exported, use constant, daily communication with the fields so that they can build their work. It is also important to place one or two border crossings or allocate separate lanes on them so that empty trucks can pass in both directions. I think this will be resolved in the near future,” the minister noted.
this, the implementation of the memorandum will contribute to the partial unblocking of Ukrainian exports and increasing food security in developing countries that are threatened by famine. And therefore, it should reduce migration pressure to Europe.
