Smart Locker Open Network for Smart Cities:
300th MYFLEXBOX gives the go-ahead for partnership with GESIBA
From 0 to 300 in less than three years: In August, the Austrian smart city company MYFLEXBOX erected the 300th smart parcel box in Austria. It is also the hundredth locker in the city of Vienna and heralds a new partnership. In addition to many other established residential construction companies, GESIBA now also relies on MYFLEXBOX and proves: The intelligent lockers are ideal smart city building blocks that can be used to save paths and CO2. They create immediate added value for residents, increase the quality of life and provide lasting impetus. This Smart City aspect is reflected in the very special branding of the 300th parcel box.
The rapid expansion of MYFLEXBOX continues with the hundredth smart parcel station in the city of Vienna. There are already more than 300 smart parcel stations across Austria – and the trend is rising, after all the network is growing rapidly due to the great demand. The 300th locker in 1010 Vienna, Hintere Liesingbachstraße 27, also scores with a special smart city design as a symbol that MYFLEXBOX avoids unnecessary journeys and thus saves not only time but also CO2. A total of 20 lockers are planned in Vienna with the new partner GESIBA. The clear goal of MYFLEXBOX is: Thanks to a strong partner network, the Smart Locker makes everyday life easier for customers as well as delivery for Austrian e-commerce and parcel service providers. If the collection, shipping and return of parcels can be combined with other activities such as shopping or filling up with gas, the time saved can be sensibly invested elsewhere. Then the 24/7 pick-up and return option offers a great deal of flexibility and also sets important sustainable signals.
Smart sustainability thanks to a networked, provider-independent platform
Those who use intelligent lockers help save up to 66 percent of emissions per parcel in urban areas. You can then pick up, send and return several shipments from different parcel service providers from a MYFLEXBOX – conveniently, contactless and around the clock. The provider-independent smart lockers are therefore an important tool for solving last-mile problems. This also makes them an important component of Smart City logistics. Jonathan Grothaus, co-founder and CEO of MYFLEXBOX, says: “Our goal is to contribute to making cities more efficient and sustainable and to making everyday life easier for residents. With MYFLEXBOX we offer a fully networked platform of interconnected smart lockers. Thanks to the open interfaces of our software, we can quickly integrate partner companies and automate processes. Cooperation with parcel service providers, e-commerce and brick-and-mortar retailers, as well as housing associations and infrastructure providers, enables us to achieve the greatest possible benefit for cities and the people who live there.” Thanks to these partnerships, MYFLEXBOX is already an important part of the Smart City – Development in Austria.
Common advantages: Save distances and CO2 together
Residential construction companies like GESIBA know that these advantages are valued and are increasingly erecting smart parcel stations in easily accessible public places. This increases the attractiveness of the district and increases tenant loyalty. General dir. Ewald Kirschner from GESIBA explains: “We decided on MYFLEXBOX because we wanted to offer our residents added value. The pick-up stations not only make everyday life easier, they also reduce traffic jams and contribute to climate protection. they fit perfectly with our other Smart City modules.” GESIBA stands for affordable, highly comfortable living in a correspondingly good infrastructure for all generations according to the needs and at the same time to the satisfaction of the customers.
Sustainable solutions for smart cities
This satisfaction also plays an important role at MYFLEXBOX. Lukas Wieser, CO-Founder and CEO of MYFLEXBOX, explains the background to the success: “We are a real Smart City product. With our intelligent pick-up stations, users can take advantage of several services at the same time. We always approach cities holistically. Our platform is exciting for all users and ours due to the network effect. Individual solutions that are dismantled after a few years are not our focus. We are interested in the long term and in the long term, and our success confirms the path we have taken. By the end of next year we want to grow to more than 600 locations in Austria. Our market entry in Germany will take place by the end of the year and the feedback is very positive”.
