Reading promotion: Book about “Nali and Nora” as a gift for the start of school
As a small reminder of the start of school and as a contribution to promoting reading, the school beginners in the city of Salzburg received the book “City Adventures with Nali & Nora”.
SALZBURG. Next Monday, September 12, 2022, around 1,800 girls and boys in the city of Salzburg will start their “school career”. As a “starter present” they get the volume of the series “City Adventures with Nali & Nora”. The third part, subtitled “Time Travel in Salzburg”, has now been presented in the city library.
Salzburg a hundred years ago
The book is intended to encourage the desire to read from the start of school. The books are designed in such a way that the children recognize things from their everyday life and at the same time learn new things about the city of Salzburg away from tourist sights.
In the third volume, the protagonists, the axolotl Nali and the girl Nora, deal with how Salzburg looked over a hundred years ago. “The book should be a souvenir of the first day of school, give the children joy and make a contribution to promoting reading,” says Deputy Mayor Bernhard Auinger, who is responsible for schools.
The third volume was designed by the author Lisa-Viktoria Niederberger and the illustrator Sandra Brandstätter. Josef Kirchner from the Mosaic platform has taken over the coordination of the book project.
