Especially in the current economically challenging times, this is one of the cornerstones of stability. Inclusion in the Index validates our strategy of making this important issue an integral part of our governance. We are particularly proud to be the first representative of our industry and to be ranked 7th among the top 25 companies in the sustainability index of the Swiss Stock Exchange. This also encourages us to question our linear economic order even more intensively and to focus more on the circular economy.”
Long-term sustainability record at Swiss Prime Site Sustainability has been firmly anchored in the Board of Directors, the Executive Board and throughout the company for many years. The vision of Swiss Prime Site is to create sustainable value and living space. Value creation is understood as a comprehensive, multidimensional concept in which non-financial aspects are also taken into account in addition to the fulfillment of financial goals. Various initiatives are being pursued in the areas of environment, social affairs and corporate governance (ESG). This includes, for example, a clearly defined CO2 reduction way. The aim is to make the portfolio of around 180 properties and 1.7 million square meters of usable space climate-neutral by 2040. By the end of 2022, around 75% of the usable space in the portfolio should also have a BREEAM in-use certificate. In addition, corporate financing and management remuneration are linked to clear sustainability goals.
