Health Program Manager Mozambique – Switzerland
We are seeking a talented candidate to manage an exciting and dynamic portfolio of countries (80-90% employment).
your role
- Development of the long-term strategy and thematic orientation of the country program in close cooperation with the country team.
- Manage the project and program cycle including planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, protocol framework development and project documentation.
- Oversee and coordinate the implementation of key projects and actively monitor the annual operational plan and budget execution.
- Work closely with the country team to develop new project proposals and identify new funding opportunities while actively maintaining relationships with current key donors.
- Take over human resources, financial management and administration including recruitment, in cooperation with the SolidarMed administrative unit in the country.
- Manage the relationship with key partner organizations.
- As an active member of our international programs team, you will contribute to other new project developments, evaluation testing and knowledge management.
- Contribute to the development of our organizational skills.
- They are active in national and international networking events and take part in relevant conferences as representatives of SolidarMed.
- Annual program-related trips abroad (up to 3 weeks per year).

- Minimum Master’s level in Global Public Health.
- You are an experienced people manager and have demonstrated strong leadership skills.
- You have at least one year of experience as a program coordinator in sub-Saharan Africa or other developing countries.
- Strong analytical and research skills as well as excellent planning and organizational skills, ability to work in a dynamic environment, meeting deadlines and managing diverse demands.
- Medical background with experience in disease areas in developing countries is desirable.
- Strong intercultural communication skills and proven ability to work effectively in a network structure and with project teams in different countries.
- Experience in writing persuasive technical proposals and reports to institutional donors.
- fluent English and German; Good knowledge of Portuguese or willingness to learn.
- Swiss or EU citizens or a valid work permit for Switzerland is mandatory.
