Ukraine is preparing to join the EU: Kravchuk told what has already been done
By the end of 2022, Ukraine must close seven points regarding obligations for joining the European Union. People’s deputy of Ukraine (Servant of the People faction) Yevgenia Kravchuk told about this today, September 7, on the air of FREEDOM TV channel.
“Let me remind you that in continuation of the anti-corruption reform, a competition was held for the head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU). By the way, today we made important decisions in the parliament, in particular regarding NABU and the Constitutional Court. An important draft law was also voted in the first reading, which, in fact, makes the competition for judges of the Constitutional Court transparent. This is only one of the points,” she said.
Also, according to Yevgenia Kravchuk, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for the law on media, for strict monitoring to prevent money laundering.
“After the implementation of these sub-items, we really hope for a clear substantive conversation regarding further steps and the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. We received candidate status in the red, and next year we want to start negotiations on admission. These are very fast terms, they are several times faster than for other countries,” said the People’s Deputy.
She noted that Ukraine has a very high motivation, as more than 90% of Ukrainians want to see the country in the European Union, which is why the parliament passes laws.
“We now have a priority for European integration laws at every meeting. But it is worth understanding that we are already integrating into the European Union,” added Kravchuk.
