From September 19, it will be possible to change the traffic towards ul. Dietla under the reconstructed 19th-century railway viaduct over ul. Grzegórzecka in Kraków – was handed over by PKP Polskie Linie Kolej on Wednesday, indicating that repair services are settled according to the schedule.

The foundations and props of the facility are ready. Contractors are also finalizing work on the last of the five brick arches.

According to him, after the work on the arches, the contractor will start building the viaduct wall and preparing the structure for laying the tracks. Main construction works on ul. Grzegórze will end in 2023. In – as told by the marnik – trains on two tracks: Kraków Główny – Kraków Pay on two tracks, as it was not before, on four tracks.

The modernization works on the line, which are nearing completion, consist in reaching the reference point by means of 850-meter-high flyovers of the earth embankment running through the center of Krakow, from ul. Copernicus to ul. Miodowa, and to build four tracks on them. A new bridge over the Vistula River is also under construction, as well as Kraków Grzegórzki railway stops at Hala Targowa and Kraków Złocień. Completion of all work is in reference to the year.
In total, PKP PLK is rebuilding a track section with a length of 20 km. After the investment, the trains will travel at a speed of 160 km / h, and in the center of Krakow – 100 km / h. The value of the investment exceeds PLN 1 billion, of which all EU funding amounts to EUR 194.9 million.
