Coldplay tour that will pass through Portugal was almost not to happen
“We’ve never been through a crisis like this,” revealed Chris Martin, explaining that the band discusses serious financial problems.
In May 2023, one called Coldplay will hit Coimbra. The stadium in the Portuguese city will receive 200,000 people to attend one of the four concerts — which sold out quickly, within hours. Housing prices have already skyrocketed and the impact on the local economy promises to be huge.
This “Music of the Spheres” tour was close to not happening. Who says it is Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, in statements to the fan platform “CplayXtra”. The British musician revealed that the group went through a “serious financial crisis” and that the tour could only go forward thanks to outside help.
“We had never gone through a crisis like this”, outlines the singer. “It was the first time we got to the point where we couldn’t tour due to lack of money. Fortunately, it helps. to make changes here and there, but they were not drawn.”
Chris Martin said whether or not he helped Coldplay financially complete the tour. It is assumed that the financial problem was caused by the interruption of performances during the pandemic. This tour, which is ultra sustainable, will cost more for that very reason.
