The Green Village being built on the grounds of the World Council of Churches (WCC) in the Quartier des Nations in Geneva has reached a milestone. The Swiss Life Investment Foundation acquires the nine-story Kyoto administration building with a gross floor area of over 14,000 square meters. It is scheduled to be handed over in the summer of 2024. The Montreal residential building was already sold in 2020, and its 48 condominiums will be completed this year. The Kyoto and Montreal buildings together form the first phase of the overall Green Village project.
Four buildings will be built in the second phase: the Ecumenical Centre, the seat of the WCC, to be renovated between 2024 and 2026, the Lima building to be constructed at the same time for sister organizations and WCC tenants, the Rio hotel and apart-hotel with 250 rooms and among others the administration building in Stockholm. The latter will have 9,000 square meters of office space on seven floors, each with a gross floor area of 1,250 square meters and is to be sold as a condominium. Implenia reports that the marketing of the building has started. (Ah)
