San Marino. Law in support of the family, Usl: “Inadmissible closures on parental leave”
The San Marino Union of Workers says its approval on the approval, by the Council, of the law “Protection and support of the family and parenthood”.
“Although the legislation has made great strides on the subject of the family, giving a concrete response to needs that have been waiting for their satisfaction for too long, we cannot be satisfied in any case – declares in a press release theSan Marino workers union About the law ‘Protection and support of the family and parenthood’ -. The aspect of the protection of disability and support for family members in difficulty has not only not been enhanced but, in the new text, is perhaps more lacking ”.
“It was in fact specified, contrary to what was established by the previous discipline, of the interpretative margins, that the so-called ‘parental leave’ can be granted only in favor of workers residing in the territory who need to take care of family members who are also resident. Therefore, those resident workers, including San Marino workers, who need to support a family member who lives outside San Marino are excluded ”, all the union points out.
“Therefore, differentiated treatments are applied to workers, not having access to the same rights and, obviously, not being able to take advantage of the similar institutes provided for in neighboring Italy. We are sure that solutions could and should have been made ”, insists the Local Health Authority, highlighting proposals made“ promoting solidarity with common sense in the tables, with a view to redistribution and reasoning ”.
“We do not share this general relationship or on the level of the protection of frontier workers, although we understand how this aspect must necessarily be included in the framework more than a re-discussion of the terms of the Italy-San Marino agreement, with a view to favoring and stimulating a process of reciprocity . We ask for awareness and for the disparity to be remedied immediately and we are willing to open a discussion table on the matter. Enough of discrimination against workers! ”, Finally says the San Marino Workers’ Union.
