Maria Dahlin leads Sam Productions and Meta Films expansion in Sweden | News
Denmark’s Sam Productions and Meta Film, the companies led by CEO Meta Louise Foldager Sørensen, are expanding into Sweden.
Maria Dahlin will head up the Swedish operations when SAM and Meta increase their investment in Swedish films and series.
Sam Productions’ owners are Søren Sveistrup, Adam Price and Studiocanal.
“Søren, Adam and I have a sincere deep love for Swedish stories; I think our previous productions clearly showed that”, said Foldager Sørensen and pointed to previous Swedish collaborations, i.a. Limit, Madam and Aniara. She added that the companies planned “larger and more focused investments in production in Sweden.”
She continued: “This is a natural development of our cultural kinship between Sweden and Denmark, and we look forward to collaborating with the many talented and exciting writers and directors in Sweden… Our ambition is to be an innovative and independent addition to the Swedish production landscape with a focus on high-quality original stories and with a clear Nordic voice.”
Dahlin, who will continue to be based in Stockholm, is previously CEO of Art & Bob Film & Drama. Her credits include Wallander, Beyond, Becoming Astrid, The centenarian man who climbed out of the window, Disappeared and The Giant.
Also the producer Mistre Tesfaye and the assistant producer Pernilla Frykholm join the team in Stockholm this month.
Sam Productions (TV) and Meta Film (features) are sister companies that continue to be headquartered in Copenhagen. Foldager Sørensen’s previous film productions also belong A royal affair and Lars von Triers Antichrist and Melancholy.
