Genoa will be the largest High-Tech Park in Italy
Genoa looks to the future and, with an urban redevelopment plan of 400,000 square meters and 1.2 billion, aims to create a real P.High-Tech bow where 25,000 people will work and study.
LARGE Campus – this is the name of the project started by Genova High Tech SpA (GHT) – is the largest urban redevelopment plan in the city of Genoa: there, where huge containers used to stop, now there is room for the largest Scientific and Technological Park (PST) in Italy, which will have the objective and the responsibility to stimulate the creativity of Italian “brains”, centralize talents and incentivize the country’s technological balance.
«We have studied the best international experiences of Science and Technology Park to distill and harmonize the factors that determine the success of a Science Park making it a live place h24: research centers, universities, office buildings, spaces for conventions and conferences, libraries, but also commercial and catering services, sports facilities, homes and residences, large green spaces, schools or kindergartens, car parks, security, places for entertainment and cultural consumption », the team of LARGE Campus.
Spotlight on this ambitious as well as extraordinary project. A’accelerated towards a future which until now was almost difficult even to imagine. Such a large area, left abandoned to itself for about 20 years, that today attracts attention by making people talk about it for the start of a redevelopment plan never seen before in Italy.
Inevitable and almost obvious, the most anticipated project among everyone’s trepidation is the construction of the new Polytechnic of Genoa, among the cornerstones of the idea of LARGE Campus to give scholars, studios and students the opportunity to learn and develop the best proposals in the tech field.
The university seat will be a real American-style campus, with classrooms, offices and departments designed around the needs of students and professors. Here boys and girls will not only be able to spend their hours of lessons and study, but also their free time: in fact, there will be a large green area, exhibitions and cultural conferences, as well as bars, a theater, study rooms. and a large library.
Reaching the university will no longer be so difficult and the commuters’ nightmare will turn into a pleasant walk through the Genoese streets: the campus will be equipped with a bus stop, as well as more than 1,000 parking spaces for cars / motorcycles divided into two plans. Inside the university area, then, there will be a general square, a meeting place and fun. A real student-friendly village to encourage studies and cultural and technological passions, without leaving leisure moments behind.
Another square, the main one, is being planned in an area not too far away, surrounded by shops, post office, bank, kindergarten, bookstores, music shops, ethnic restaurants, free wi-fi and entertainment. Nothing will be left to chance and every necessary service will be available to make the Science and Technology Park a real city within the city.
The project is also at the forefront from the point of view ofenvironmental impact: yes to wind and photovoltaic, the buildings will have an environmentally friendly construction and LED lighting; on the streets, charging stations for electric vehicles will be installed, while plans for the implementation of platforms will continue to be designed in favor of car pooling and public parking lots.
“We want to create an” ecosystem “capable of encouraging creativity and innovation thanks to the direct contact between components and technicians, students and managers who work or attend university”, underlines the team of LARGE Campus.
Now the project is finished and Genoa is ready to enrich itself with beauty and avant-garde. It is time to get to work to create the largest Italian Technology and Science Park and give the country’s talents the opportunity to grow in high-tech and making Italy a smarter country.
