CoV tests: Another protest against the federal award
politics
After previous political affairs on CoV topics, the new call for PCR tests for federal schools is causing new protests. Federal authorities would now give the major order to a single company in Lower Austria, criticize the Tauernkliniken in Zell am See (Pinzgau). They belong to a different beer community.
This community with the Pinzgauers should not get a chance at all. The sole winner is the company Covid Fighters based in Göstling an der Ybbs in Lower Austria, according to the industry. You have been awarded the contract for all five “slots” by the Federal Procurement Agency.
Hard-fought government contracts
This company cannot handle such a simple order for all providers of PCR tests at Austria’s federal schools, one at Life Brain – another major criticism. The Tauernkliniken in Zell am See, who have also submitted an offer for the examination via another bidding consortium, argue in a very similar way.
Tenant bidders criticize procedures
These last two providers have already appealed the decision to the Federal Administrative Court. This has now confirmed the contract for Covid Fighters for the federal states of Vorarlberg and Tyrol. He expects the same for the other federal states, said Tauernkliniken managing director Franz Öller on Tuesday morning to ORF on request. For the time being, there is no comment from the responsible federal procurement agency. There one refers to the “open procedure”, as it is literally called.
Republic already condemned
The dispute over the assignment of the PCR tests to federal schools is part of a series of mishaps that have already occurred with regard to the CoV tests paid for by the public sector from taxpayers’ money. At the end of January, the republic led by the black-green federal government was even sentenced to a fine of half a million euros for an incorrect tender.
