Cohesion Minister says in Penela that Portugal needs to increase clean energy production – Coimbra News
The minister of Territorial Cohesion stressed that today the medium and long-term national path in the area of energy involves production and supply from non-polluting sources.
“In addition to direct support [do Estado], the path for companies will have to be to increase the supply of clean energy. All the support we have in the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and Portugal 2030 goes in this direction”, said Ana Abrunhosa, in Penela, district of Coimbra.

“This is also a great opportunity for these inland territories, where we have soil and resources to produce energy from clean sources, because there is no package that supports us if we do not make the path of producing available sources from renewable sources”, he underlined.
Regarding the package of aid to the set to help minimize the impacts of rising energy prices and inflation, Ana Abrunhosa reiterated that the government is waiting for Friday’s meeting of the European Union to present support afterwards, it was made for a population .
“We are very concerned about companies that consume gas, for example, with the large ones having a cost of 3,000 euros for 15,000,” he stressed, recalling that the Government already has a support measure for consumers. , “although it has been mentioned that it is insufficient”.
According to the official, after understanding what will be done at the European Union level, work will continue on the support package for companies, which will complement the support package for families, always with the help that “ measures do not cause inflation”.
