City of Salzburg – end of the bathing season: Municipal outdoor pools take stock
After two Corona seasons, this year’s bathing season has the motto: “Bathing like before”. The municipal companies draw a positive balance in this summer. Over 185,000 bathers visited the “Lepi”, the “Volksi” and the AYA outdoor pool. Compared to the previous year, this is around 60,000 more visitors. The free offer at Badesee Liefering was also well received by the people of Salzburg. “After two years of “Corona summer”, everything is finally back to the way it was,” says the deputy mayor responsible for the department. Bernhard Auinger and intended special thanks to the employees of the municipal operations, without whom the smooth running of the bathing operation would not have been possible, says Auinger.
The total number of visitors of 185,243 breaks down as follows:
- Leopoldskron outdoor pool: 110,320 visitors
- Volksgarten outdoor pool: 42,916 visitors
- AYA outdoor pool: 32,007 visitors
“It was a quiet, beautiful and hot summer time, without any special incidents. The number of visitors is in the long-term average. I would also like to thank the great team in the pools, which makes it possible for visitors to have a pleasant bathing experience,” says Roland Oberhauser, Head of Municipal Services, with satisfaction.
Inexpensive bathing fun with season tickets
The season ticket, which was available to buy again this year, was particularly pleasing for all frequent swimmers. With this, guests can visit all outdoor pools from the beginning of the season until the end of September. There was support for all recipients of social assistance in the city of Salzburg. Instead of 85 euros, the season ticket for the required only costs 19 euros. Families could also bathe cheaply this year for only 97 euros. A new feature was the partner season ticket for married couples and partnered couples, which allowed them to visit the outdoor pools all summer long for 142 euros instead of 170 euros. “Our pools are important leisure facilities for the people of Salzburg. They are well maintained, affordable for everyone and offer summer bathing fun for young and old. I would like to say a big thank you to all the employees of the outdoor pools, who do an excellent job every day,” emphasizes Auinger in full.
Last swimming weekend in “Lepi” and “Volksi” – AYA outdoor pool remains open
The successful bathing season is slowly coming to an end. On Sunday, September 11th, is the last bathing day in the “Lepi” and in the Volksgartenbad. The AYA-Bad, on the other hand, remains open for all bathing fans even longer, depending on the weather. It is open daily in September from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Preparations for the cold season are under way
The employees are now switching from summer to winter mode. The ice arena is in operation for the already organized sport. The first preparations for the public run, which will start on October 1st, 2022 on the covered open area, will soon start. Attention ice skaters: inside: the popular ice magic starts on November 18th, 2022. So saying goodbye to summer is no longer that difficult.
