Schnieker König-Hammer to 2:0
The encounter between the two teams, who had not won until now, could not have started any better for the local Lungau region. Already in the 5th minute Marktl fired the early 1:0 lead. This was expanded in the course of the first half – and how it was expanded: The Pfarrwerfen corner defense fell short and König volleyed the ball right into the upper crease with his left hand (24th). “With his weaker left”, St. Michael coach Gerald Payer was amazed at the goal of the “Goal of the Year” brand.
First three of the season for St. Michael
Even after the tea break, the hosts remained the more grippy and leading team. After Marktl – as in the first half – had made a real lightning start (48th) and Schiefer had meanwhile made it 4-0 (59th), Gerner gave the defeated bottom of the table a fifth time (71st). “We were superior throughout the game and had a lot of chances. A very deserved win,” Payer summed up. After the number one win of the season, there was pure relief in the Lungau camp. And it is up to the trainer, then the tabular journey should continue upwards in the future. “We want to establish ourselves in the middle of the table. If we show the commitment that we have now shown against Pfarrwerfen, the points will come by themselves.” The Pfarrwerfener, on the other hand, remain last with a measly point on their account even after six rounds have been played.
