FC Pinzgau set the direction
The Sunday match in the Saalfelden office started with a bang. Less than 20 seconds were on the clock when home offensive man Gvozdjar already had the opening goal on his foot, after an ideal pass from Joao Pedro found his master in guest keeper Strobl. Shortly thereafter, it was Captain Tandari who tried to lift the Grünau goalkeeper – but the marble narrowly missed its target. The Pinzgauers set the pace and continue to set the game. “If we had fallen further behind, we shouldn’t have complained,” admitted Grünau coach Bernhard Kletzl. After another chance from Hutter and Gvozdjar, whose shot went just millimeters wide of the far corner, the home side finally went ahead in the 38th minute with great help from guest defender Kanzler, who maneuvered the cherry into his own hut in a goalscoring manner . The joy in Saalfelden about the 1-0 was short-lived. Shortly before the end of the first half, Nika provided a flattering equalizer with a deflected shot (45′). Moments later, Tandari headed the ball just over the crossbar from a short distance, so the score remained tied at the break.
drama to the end
The entertainment factor should also remain high in the second 45 minutes. The first highlight belonged to the Kletzl crew, who appeared relatively quickly in the home team’s penalty area and made acquaintance with the crossbar (48′). In return, Joao Pedro put his teammate Gvozdjar in the best possible light, who put his FC Pinzgau back on the road to victory with a well-considered shot into the far corner – 2:1 (50th). After a little more than an hour, the preliminary decision was quickly made: Joao Pedro tested the Grünau “glove” with a tricky long-range shot, but a Strobl scraped the ball off the line with a brilliant save at the last moment. In the end, the host showed himself to be sovereign – even if it got pretty turbulent again in the 98th minute. Home keeper Schröcker held the three points with a class flight after Hauk’s header. Moments earlier, Grünaus Scheibenhofer had been thrown off the field with the traffic light card (unsportsmanlike behavior, 95th minute). “A more than deserved home win. We were quickly the more active team throughout the entire game and created a clear advantage for ourselves. The only drawback: we should have scored more goals. For us it was an important threesome because of the away games in Bischofshofen and Anif two important games are waiting for us”, summed up Pinzgau-“Co” Max Mariacher.
