Parma-San Marino, the championship challenge resumes »Baseball.it
Let’s start once again. Parma Clima and San Marino are ready to resume the duel in the Italian Baseball Series, currently on one and one after the 3-1 victory of the Titans in the first match and the prompt redemption (13-4) of the European champions.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the third, fourth and fifth matches will be played on the Nino Cavalli field of Parma while the sixth and seventh matches will be played, if necessary, on the field of the reigning champions on the evenings of Saturday 11 and Sunday 12. September.
The game on Monday evening is of fundamental importance in the economy of the entire series, the team that manages to win it will undoubtedly take on the role of favorite in the title race in an arm wrestling that up to now has not spared emotions and surprises.
The clear victory of Parma Clima in the second game has removed some certainty from the formation of Doriano Bindi who must think to find the best rotation in view of the third match. The arrival in recent weeks of pitchers Angelo Palumbo (2-0, 6.62) and Dimitri Kourtis (1-0, 4 saves, 0.54) has made a group of community pitchers longer and more competitive than already counting on Spanish Fernando Baez (5 -2, 2.53). Kourtis also showed in race one to be a more powerful and reliable neighbor while Palumbo showed some more trouble in the role of starting pitcher. The goal of the San Marino coaching staff is to find the incisive attack that stood out in the first part of the season and in the semifinal round against Grosseto: in the first two games the absolute protagonist was the receiver Gabriel Lino who has beat at home five of the seven points overall.
Games that have already been played at Parma Clima, which last Sunday found the Luis Lugo of the best times in Bologna. Despite the defeat, the Italo-Venezuelan southpaw (2-2, 3.29) has found speed and precision by applying for the role of starting pitcher to compete. In case of need, the ducal technical staff can also count on Alex Diaz (partially recovered with four days of rest after the efforts of race one) and on Marc Andrè Habeck (7-0, 4 saves, 1.99) stopped by the winner of the seventh game against Bologna.
