Marseille, to counter the crisis the Chamber of Commerce goes into overdrive
Accelerate, accelerate, accelerate… but without going into the wall. This is the mission that the Aix Marseille Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry has defined. In its roadmap for the 2021-2026 mandate, the CCIAMP has decreed the mobilization of its troops. The idea is to enhance the region, to be anchored in the concrete, as close as possible to the needs of the field. To avoid Théodule commissions.

Great world metropolis
Behind this acceleration, a stated desire: to make the metropolis a major global economic hub between Europe, the Mediterranean and Africa. Some will evoke a cream pie but now economic and political worlds are rowing in the same direction. For Jean-Luc Chauvin, the president of the CCIAMP: “ We no longer have time to wait, we must act. Priority should be given to metropolitan investment projects that quickly have a significant impact rather than territorial ones. We must also avoid creating services that do the same thing between the State, local authorities and consular officers. Public money is scarce let’s concentrate it for greater efficiency “.
An agora Africa
It is a paradox according to one of the elected members of the chamber. ” We are a territory anchored in Africa historically, with a large diaspora where we have no place to receive Euro-African economic actors in Marseille “, believes Frédéric Ronald. To fill this void, a space of 450 m² on the thirtieth floor of the Marseillaise tower should be reserved. This “Afric’Agora”, in an emblematic place, would be a kind of coworking place for African business leaders where they could meet partners and customers. Steps are being taken to find members.
A multidisciplinary campus
Acceleration also presupposes a balance between job supply and demand. Several are still in tension while the number of unemployed remains high in the region. To deal with this, a multi-business campus was created in Vaufrèges on an area of 5,000 m². ” It is a metropolitan platform in charge of experimenting different things “says Fabrice Alimi, an elected member of the chamber responsible for “entrepreneurship for all”. It must bring the world of business and employment closer together. The Chamber’s databases are there to guide us and not to be behind on training. Too often when the learner finishes his course, the needs have already evolved. There we will have very targeted training and we will mix the characteristics of the world of work.
The entire budget and staff of the CCIAMP are mobilized around the six priorities of the mandate. But accelerating does not mean taking the risk of uncontrolled skids. All are subject to an evaluation to measure their effectiveness and reinstate corrective measures according to the situation.
