GP San Marino: Foggia wins at Misano and takes advantage of a fall from Garcia
Dennis Foggia wins the San Marino GP on the Misano track for the second consecutive year. The Leopard driver triumphs over Masia and Guevara at the end of an orderly race.
Moto3 reaches the epilogue with regard to the San Marino GP in Misano. The minor class ran its fourteenth race starting with a general classification that saw Garcia at 193, followed with little delay by teammate Guevara. More detached, however, Dennis Foggia. The Leopard rider, betrothed to Italtrans in Moto2 in 2023, stood at 144, followed by 138 by Sasaki and 127 by Masia and Oncu.
This weekend all the starting drivers took to the track, with the addition of the Wild Card Harrison Voight, talented Australian Junior GP driver with SIC58 who allowed him to race this event.
The first session of the weekend was monopolized by the Honda of Foggia, which closed the best lap in 1.42.442. Second time for Sasaki, a fresco of victory in Austria, followed by Guevara. Oncu took the tenth time, while they disappointed Garcia (17th) and Masia (23rd).
In the afternoon Foggia was confirmed as the best on the track, lapping in 1.41.608. Following the Italian rider were confirmed Sasaki and Suzuki. Garcia has grown to fourth position, Masia has moved up to eighth. Male, instead Guevara in ninth position and Oncu confirmed in tenth.
The FP3s determined the drivers with direct access to Q2, among them, Nepa emerges who took the third combined time. Among the excellent were Munoz, Rossi and Artigas.
In Qualifying, in Q1 we saw the promotion of Munoz, Fellon, Rossi and Fernandez. The Pole Position, at the end of Q2, was conquered by Oncu, who was joined by rookies Holgado and Moreira. Yamanaka, Guevara and Tatay started from the second row, while the third row was occupied by Foggia, McPhee and Migno. Fourth row for Fernandez, Masia and Nepal. Garcia suffered a lot from the rain that fell in Q2. The Spaniard took a time that was valid only for the thirteenth box.
Misano Moto3 GP summary
The San Marino Moto3 GP took place under a clear sky, with a temperature of 26 ° C on the Misano track.
The start immediately saw Oncu cut the way to the other two drivers from the front row. Guevara, who started fifth, at the second of the Rio immediately moves to third position. In the rear ends the Misano race in Moto3 for Ayumu Sasaki who ends up on the ground together with Carraro. Garcia has cut the variant of the park and is immediately placed under investigation.

Lap 2 – On the finish line of the classification was the following: Oncu, Guevara, Moreira, Holgado, Foggia, Tatay, Yamanaka, Migno, Suzuki, Munoz. At the Moreira cart, Holgado and Foggia take Oncu. Subsequently, at Misano 1, Holgado also slips on Moreira.
Lap 3 – Munoz laps in 1.42.556 and enters the race pace, while Andrea Migno falls at the variant of the Park. Foggia slips Holgado and moves to third position, at a safe distance from Munoz. Garcia, after the long one at the first corner of the first lap due to a contact with Fernandez, climbs up to the eighth position scoring the fastest lap.
Lap 4 – Guevara, al, takes advantage of the famous ratios of his Gasgas and manages to lead the race. Al Carro Garcia makes contact again, this time with Oncu, and returns to ninth position.
Lap 5 – Garcia’s palpable nervousness definitively betrays him at the first of the Rio, where his front leaves him and dumps him to the ground. Same fate, at sunset, for Aji who struggles to get up.

Lap 6 – Guevara, strong from the double crash of Sasaki and Garcia who is in last position, starts to give a strong pace that Foggia, in second position, was struggling to keep up. The Spaniard from Aspar in that phase to hold four tenths on the Leopard driver. At the end of the lap Garcia returned to the pits and then left again after a brake intervention
Lap 7 – On the finish line of the classification was the following: Guevara, Foggia, Holgado, Oncu, Munoz, Masia, Suzuki and Moreira. After the Brazilian, at one second and six, there were Nepa, Rosssi, McPhee, Tatay, Ortola and Bartolini.
Lap 8 – Guevara maintains a pace around 1.41.9, followed by Foggia at four tenths. Garcia is voiced by the leading group. Suzuki slips Munoz and sale in sixth position, behind Masia and Oncu. At Misano 2 the Leopard rider also puts on the Tech3 turkish.
Giro 9 – Fast lap of Masia in 1.41.731, while Foggia was still struggling to keep up with Guevara, who was almost six tenths ahead. Suzuki led the second group a second behind Masia.
Lap 10 – Foggia comes on and also scores a 1.41.710, and takes a few curves to the Guevara exhaust, taking Holgado and Masia to the shoulders. At the Quercia the first two travel paired and Foggia sinks. At the bend Guevara faces again, but Foggia detaches strongly from the Carro and rejects the attack to the sender.

Lap 11 – Despite the tussle, Suzuki fails to mend the first four and, on the contrary, loses two tenths and moves to one second and three from the first four who, at that moment, were maintaining an unattainable pace. The strong point of Guevara is the length of the curve where he manages to join Foggia who continued to respond in braking. Scott Ogden retires at the end of the lap due to a technical problem.
Lap 12 – At the Oncu park he slips on Suzuki and tries to mend the second and a half behind the first four.
Lap 13 – Oncu mezzo gains a second in one lap and takes one second and one behind Masia. Foggia, first, tries to take a few cents ahead of Guevara who was always waiting for the bend to sink the overtaking. Also in this lap Guevara fails to complete the overtaking.
Lap 14 – Oncu, taking Suzuki with him, moves to nine tenths of a second behind Masia. Moreira and Munoz, on the other hand, linger behind.
Lap 5 – Oncu and Suzuki almost manage to mend the leaders, accusing the finish line of six tenths of a deficit. At the Carro Masia sink the attack on Holgado. The Spaniard studied his compatriot’s moves for a long time before sinking and detaching the rider who has to deal with the comeback Oncu and Suzuki. Finally, after years, the black flag returns, this time exposed to Garcia for irresponsible driving.
Lap 17 – The group comes together again, with Masia immediately stamping himself in Guevara after getting rid of Holgado. Guevara alla Quercia gives way to overtaking immediately laps before. At Sunset Foggia puts in and takes Guevara outside. Thanks for this maneuver is Masia who slips, before losing the position at the bend in favor of Foggia who returns to the top.
Lap 18 – At the Quercia Guevara slips, this time, Masia and, at sunset, also overtakes Foggia which, at the bend, takes the top position again. Meanwhile, a Long Lap was given to Artigas who sailed in seventeenth position.
Giro 19 – Foggia slightly elongated after the variant of the Park and manages to pass quietly at the Quercia and at Tramonto. After also passing the Carro, the first four cross the finish line with a better pace Holgado and Suzuki who come to accuse six tenths.
Giro 20 – Foggia tries to dare a tear and goes to four tenths from Garcia at Sunset. At the Carro Garcia he takes off very strongly and passes to T3 with only one tenth of delay.
Giro 21 – Track Limitis Warning for Foggia that finds a great sword of damocles in the last three laps of the race. Guevara always sinks to the Quercia on Foggia which responds to him inside at Sunset. Still going wide, Masia and Oncu slip into Guevara who drops to fourth position. Masia gets stuck in the Foggia drains.
Lap 22 – The variant falls Tatay who was at the limit of the points zone. The pilot came off the track on his legs. Bartolini and Toba, fighting for fifteenth position, suffer a Long Lap Penalty.
Last lap – After a twenty-second lap without overtaking, the last lap begins with an attempt by Oncu at the Park on Masia which defends itself very well. At the Quercia Oncu he pulls off his waist and, crossing it, he places himself in front of Masia, also keeping the optimal wake. At Sunset Masia and Guevara sink on the Turk, relegating him back to fourth position. Foggia takes advantage of the bag behind him and puts three tenths on his pursuers. Coming out of the bend, Masia takes advantage of all the recovery of his Gasgas and gets in front of Masia who, however, pulls the rabbit out of the hat and answers Guevara. Foggia transits solo at Misano2 and wins the San Marino Moto3 GP, turning on the whole Misano audience.

Almost full booty for the Roman who takes advantage of the disqualification of Garcia and of the third place of Guevara who closes the podium. Fourth position for Oncu, four seconds ahead of the Holgado-Suzuki duo. Close the top ten Moreira, Ortola, McPhee and Nepa. Precious points, however, for Rossi, Munoz, Yamanaka and, taking into account the Long Lap Penalty not discounted by Bartolini, Fernandez.
The new general classification sees Guevara overtake team mate Garcia, leading with 204 points, of which eleven over his compatriot at the end of the Misano Moto3 GP. Foggia navigates in third position with a passive of 35 points, while Masia recovers to 147 points, in fourth position and with 57 points of delay from the top.
Moto3 is back on track on the weekend of 18 September on the Aragon track.
