Algarve people shine in the Portuguese Paracycling Cup in Montemor-o-Velho
The 5th Portuguese Cup of the Santa Casa Paraciclismo Games was held today in Montemor-o-Velho, which marked the end of the 2022 edition. Highlight for the C5 class race, which was discussed in a millimeter sprint between Hélder Maximino (360 BikeTrail/Mundimat/CCA Paio Pires) and Miguel Pacheco (Individual), who got the win.
Today, Montemor-o-Velho hosted the fifth and final competition of the Santa Casa Paraciclismo Portuguese Cup, with a route that linked the Municipal Market of Montemor-o-Velho and the Castle. This was a test held on a circuit of 2.3 kilometers and lasted one hour plus three laps.
The C5 class was the most disputed of the day, with Miguel Pacheco (Individual) getting the better of Hélder Maximino (360 BikeTrail/Mundimat/CCA Paio Pires) in a very tight sprint, also winning the overall ranking in this category. Miguel Milheiriço (Individual) was third after five laps.
In class C4, Ângelo Correia stood out (Amaro Antunes Cycling Club), completing the race in 1h10m57s, which also guaranteed the overall of the competition. Roberto Soares (Discover Melgaço/União Ciclista de Melgaço) by second and Cláudio Carvalho (Individual) by third, both with two laps from the winner.
In H3, João Pinto (Mirachoro Hotels / Portimão Cycling Center) won, with a large advantage over the second and third places, Rúben Garcia (K Club) and Sérgio Gomes (Descobre Destreza Associação Desportiva). João Pinto also finished in first place in the ranking in the respective category.
In the H4 class, Flávio Pacheco (Santa Cruz/Botelhos.pt) dominated, the best over Luís Ramos (Individual) and Victor Taborda (Associação Salvador), which was how he managed to secure the victory in the overall competition.
Some of the classes had only one participant, among them class C1, with Bernardo Vieira (Efapel Cycling Academy), class C2, with Telmo Pinão (Efapel Cycling Academy), class C3, with Paulo Teixeira (Roadbike/ACRG/ Gondomar), class H5, with Luís Costa (Individual), class H4 Feminine, with Sandra Manuel (Associação Salvador), class H5 Feminine, with Felismina Gomes (Association Salvador), class B Feminine, with Ana Silva, and class D, with João Marques (ACD MilharadoDriveonHolidays/Mafra).
Among these eight titles for André Soares (Mato-Cheirinhos/Vila Galé/Etopi), only João Marques was not the winner of the general ranking in his category. Although today the H2 class did not have any participants, the victory in the overall Cup went to Carlos Santos (Associação Salvador).
