After three wins against Innsbruck, Thurgau and Bietigheim, the Wolves’ winning streak has now come to an end. The Pusterer lost 4-2 against the Concordia Steelers. In addition to Dante Hannoun, coach Stefan Mair also had to do without Marc-Olivier Roy, Ben Newhouse, Dan Catenacci and goalkeeper Jake Smith.
The guests from Canada didn’t seem to be affected by jet lag, because they went about it like firefighters. The first attack was successful and after just 27 seconds Tyler Hylland beat Tomas Sholl in the Wolves’ goal. In terms of play, the Canadians were clearly superior to the black and yellow in the first third and a little later even 3-0. Shortly before the first break, Anthony Bardaro managed to make it 3-1 and thus avoided a completely messed-up first third.
In the second third, the wolves came into play better and Marco Sanna (25th) caused a lot of tension again with his goal to make it 2:3. Despite the great commitment of the Pusterer, the race to catch up did not succeed and Concordia made things clear with an empty net hit to make it 4:2 shortly before the end.
The result:
HC Pustertal – Concordia Stingers 2:4
Goals: 0-1 Hylland (1st), 0-2 Trapanier (7th), 0-3 Campbell (11th), 1-3 Bardaro (19th), 2-3 Sanna (25th), 2-4 trembling (58.)
