MotoE | San Marino GP
A fall on the fourth lap of Granado gives Aegerter the 2022 MotoE World Championship, who finishes second in Race 1 of the San Marino GP in Misano. The race was won by Casadei, ahead of the aforementioned Aegerter and Ferrari.
Last decisive GP for the MotoE in San Marino and Misano which comes alive with Race 1. The full electric class took to the track with Dominique Aegerter who can say he has half the title in his pocket thanks to the 194 points collected, of which 17.5 ahead of Granado. However, the fight for third place is still fully open: Ferrari was sailing at 121.5, followed by Pons at 115 and Casadei at 111. Also for this last weekend all the starting drivers took to the track.
The first Free Practice saw Casadei be the fastest in 1.44.975, followed by Torres and Okubo. Aegerter finished with the fifth time, doing worse than a surprising Escrig. Finally, Granado only closed with the twelfth fastest time.
The second free session saw Casadei and torres confirm themselves in the first two best times. Casadei shot in 1.43.680. The third time was achieved by Ferrari who preceded Granado and Aegerter.
In the Misano Qualifying, after the excellent exclusion of Garzo in Q1, Aegerter won with the MotoE Pole Position in 1.43.174 on the confirmed Casadei and Torres. Granado will also start tomorrow from the second row with Ferrari and pons, while Canepa, Escrig and Cardelus will start from the third.
Race 1 summary of the San Marino MotoE GP
Race 1 of the San Marino MotoE GP took place on a dry Misano track, with a temperature of 25 ° C for the air.
The start of the first of the eight laps is marked by Casadei who parades Aegerter at the Park. At the same bend Pons ends up on the ground. Casadei leaves, as usual at full speed, followed by his teammate and Granado. At two Misano exchange of positions between Okubo and Cardelus who, at the second corner of the same name, suffers the counter-overtaking of the Japanese
Lap 2 – At one Granado Aegerter passes, while Cardelus suffers the overtaking of Manfredi and Escrig who, shortly after, also surpasses Okubo.
Lap 3 – At the Granado park he also overtakes Casadei and motivates Aegerter to overtake his team mate at the first of the Rio.
Lap 4 – Aegerter gets stamped in Granado, while, after the Quercia, the pursuers were in this order: Casadei, Ferrari and Torres. At sunset Aegerter slips into Granado who takes the long straight to the maximum and, at the bend, exaggerates with the side and ends up on the ground. Halfway through the race, the World Championship seemed to have been assigned. The Brazilian, in last position, resumes the race.

Lap 6 – Announced the withdrawal of Granado in Aegerter. At that moment the ranking saw the Swiss lead, followed directly by Casadei, Torres and Ferrari. Very far behind, at four seconds, were Escrig, Canepa, Okubo, Manfredi, Cardelus, Garzo, Zannoni, Alcoba, Herrera, Smith, Fores, Finello and Granado.
Lap 7 – At the Quercia Casadei almost perfectly overtakes Aegerter who does not try to answer him in braking and, later, at sunset. At Sunset Ferrari overtakes Torres and takes the virtual podium.
Last lap – Torres tests them all on Ferrari which, in turn, takes the measures of Aegerter who is unable to close on Casadei who is about to win Race 1 of the San Marino MotoE GP.
The Italian triumphs over the new World Champion Aegerter and Matteo Ferrari. Torres remains off the podium, while Granado sadly finishes in last position and without the rear brake lever.
The MotoE returns to the track in Misano tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 pm for Race 2, valid for the last round of the 2022 World Championship, as well as the last race of the single supply of Energica.
