The summer 2022 transfer window is nun closed. We’ll still bring you updates about the last time Transfers and the biggest talents who wanted to take the next step. Immerse yourself in a compact four-pack.
Duje Caleta car
IV, 25, CRO | Olympique Marseille – > FC Southampton
The 21-time Croatian team player and ex-Salzburger Duje Caleta-Car is moving to the English Premier League. After playing 130 games for Marseille in the last four years – and thus just as many as before for Salzburg – he is moving to the Hasenhüttl club Southampton for a fee of ten million euros. Salzburg had received a transfer fee of 19 million from Marseille in 2018. The 192 cm tall central defender was in great demand recently and was also on the list of Sevilla, Torino and Aston Villa. He is a fixture in Croatia’s team squad, but under Zlatko Dalic he is not a permanent fixture in the first eleven.
Abdou Diallo
IV, 26, SE | Paris Saint Germain – > RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig strengthens its defense on loan for one season with ex-Mainz and Dortmund Abdou Diallo. The 26-year-old, who has now played 17 international matches for Senegal and will probably also take part in the World Cup, comes for a year without an option to buy. Diallo will not replace a player directly at Leipzig, but will practically come in addition. Lukas Klostermann is still injured and the other central defenders in the squad are currently Gvardiol, Simakan and Orbán, which is a likely line-up for a back three. Diallo switched from Mainz to BVB in the summer of 2018 for 28 million euros and was only sold on to PSG a year later for 32 million.
John Anthony Brooks
IV, 29, United States | VfL Wolfsburg – > Benfica
After five years in Wolfsburg, the Berlin-born American John Anthony Brooks is leaving the VW city and moving to Lisbon for a year. The 45-time US team player made 216 appearances in the Bundesliga for Hertha and Wolfsburg. The 29-year-old is now moving to Lisbon on a free transfer – previously Benfica had already spent over 60 million euros on new players – including David Neres and Fredrik Aursnes.
Pierre Dwomoh
ZM, 18, BEL | Royal Antwerp – > SC Braga
One of Belgium’s greatest talents has joined Portugal on loan. A year and a half ago we featured Pierre Dwomoh in our series about the greatest talents of the 2004 vintage. The central midfielder then moved from Genk to Antwerp last summer. However, Dwomoh did not get more than brief appearances at the up-and-coming Belgian club. Overall, he only appeared 14 times for Royal. At SC Braga, the 188 cm tall midfielder should now collect match practice. However, Braga does not hold a purchase option on the Belgian U18 team player.
