Celebrations of 200 years of Brazilian independence in Portugal

The concert is the result of an initiative by the Embassy of Brazil in Lisbon, in partnership with the Philharmonic Cultural Institute and the Lisbon/Egeac City Council, and is part of a series of others that the Orquestra Filarmónica de Minas Gerais will give in Portugal, informs Brazilian diplomatic representation, in a statement.
In the same scope of the Brazilian embassy, there will be concerts by the Casa da Música Philharmonic Orchestra, in Porto, on the 6th, at the Belém Cultural Center, in Lisbon, on the 08th, and at the São Francisco Convent, in Coimbra, on the 9th of September. .
The concerts in the three rooms, Carlos Gomes and Joly Braga Santos, with the participation of the Brazilian pianist Jean-Louis Steuerman, as a soloist.
During the tour, an orchestra will present its CD with works by D. Pedro I of Brazil (IV of Portugal), or king who declared the independence of the South American country. The album will be released with the Naxos label, on the 9th, informs the Brazilian diplomatic representation.
Of the conferences in the context of the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the Independence Forum of Brazil, “O Fórum Independência com Integração” stands out, which will bring together Portuguese-Brazilian specialists in a cultural program and debates in four Portuguese cities, an initiative of integration Brazil Europe ( FIBRA ).

The Minister Counselor of the STF, Carmem Lúcia, the professor of the University of Coimbra, Rui Manuel de Figueiredo Marcos, will debate the “Construction of the State”, with moderation of Gilmar Mendes, also chairman of the advisory board of FIBE.
The last day of the Forum, September 9th, will take place at the Cascais Cultural Center, with a debate on the theme “Desafios d’Além Mar”, when the study “Commercial Relations Brazil x Portugal” will be presented, presented by Miguel Lins, vice-president of the Foreign Trade Studies Center Foundation (Funcex).
In Braga, there is also a party to mark the bicentennial of Brazil’s independence, with the UAI Association – União, Apoio e Integração, to help the Brazilian community in Portugal, taking the initiative to make “Brazil Day”, on September 10 , with the support of the city council.
