Baseball, Scudetto Final: San Marino-Parma 4-12 in Game 2
Clear defeat and without extenuating circumstances for San Marino Baseball, which in game 2 with Parma goes under immediately, draws at 2-2 but then is again detached from the opponents until the final 13-4. 15 to 6 valid for the ducal formation, with the hosts more foul than usual in defense (4 errors). The winning pitcher is Aldegheri, loser Da Silva.
THE CHRONICLE. In the preta a Serravalle applause for the Emilia-Romagna teams who represented Europe at the recent World Series of the Little League. Girls and boys who paraded on the pitch before the presentation of the teams and followed the anthems on the diamond. Then the first launch, entrusted to Sofia Mancini and received by Cristopher Zafferani.
The race starts immediately uphill for San Marino, with Parma scoring a point in 1st (valid for Desimoni and Mineo) and 3rd (solo-homer for Desimoni). The Titans, who at the 2nd had left Batista in the point position after a double, are tied with a round of the club in the lower part of the 3rd. After the hits of Ferrini and Angulo, it is once again Lino who brings home the points: he does it with a long double, with the scoreboard scoring the momentary 2-2.
At 4th Parmaclima puts together a big inning of five points. After an out and the error of the defense on Talevi, here is the double of Flisi, the second out (Desimoni K) and above all the valid error from two points of Joseph for the 4-2. On the mountain there is the change, with Quattrini taking over Da Silva. For Mineo there is an intentional base, but soon after Gonzalez hits a triple and Parma scores three more points for the 7-2.
The last attempt to get close to the opponents materializes immediately at the change of field. San Marino faces the inning well, goes to base with Batista (base ball) and Epifano (single) and forces the Emilian technical staff to change on the mountain. Aldegheri enters for Fabiani, Pieternella is the second out (F9) but the recovery is kept alive by the base ball to Ferrini and by that to Celli which generates the third automatic point (3-7). In the box there is even the point of an eventual equal, but Angulo is eliminated in the pot and the innings ends.
It is the last real chance created by San Marino, also because Parmaclima scores another six points between the sixth and seventh inning. Two to the 6th, with Gonzalez’s valid for 8-3 and Sambucci’s sprint for 9-3. Four in the 7th, with points that arrive with valid (Joseph), base ball (Mineo), error (on Gonzalez) and sprint (Sambucci). San Marino scores a point in the lower part of the 7th after three bases and Lino’s double-cross serve. It ends 13-4, on Monday evening in Parma game 3.
