Armed robbery of a supermarket in Salzburg
Two strangers attacked a Billa branch in Salzburg-Schallmoos on Friday evening. According to the police, a masked man threatened the cashier with a gun and demanded cash. When the cashier refused, the gunman and an accomplice fled without taking anything. The “Krone” reported in the Saturday edition of a subsequent large-scale manhunt. Witnesses say the suspects are a man and a woman.
At the urging of the suspects to hand over the cash, the cashier pushed the gun pointed at her aside, and the two masked men then escaped. According to police information, the alleged perpetrator made off in an unknown direction without taking any booty. According to “Krone”, a helicopter was also involved in the search for the fugitive suspects, and cars and buses are said to have been checked at various points such as the Staatsbrücke.

According to witness statements to the police, both suspects are between 18 and 20 years old, the dark-haired man dressed all in black is about 1.80 meters tall. His accomplice was estimated at 1.65 to 1.70 meters, her brown hair was tied in a braid. The video material from the surveillance cameras is currently being evaluated and should provide new information about the perpetrator duo.
